The Interpretive Centre on Douro women

The Interpretive Centre on Douro women is a place which introduces, discusses and preserves the memory of women from the Douro Region, linking it to other national and international landscapes.
This is not just a case of providing an historical
awareness of the oppression, violence and silencing that women were subjected to over various centuries, but it is also a message of hope illustrating their actual achievements, despite the role assigned to women at that
time.
The exhibition offers different visual and listening experiences, illustrated by texts, large-scale photographs, films and interviews given by various Douro women who shared their life experiences.
